Your content is yours
Content you create using Seshat, including languages, phonologies, writing systems, lexicons, grammars, and exported files, belongs to you. You retain full copyright over it. Seshat makes no claim of ownership over content you generate or design using the platform. You may use your content for any purpose, including commercial use, regardless of your subscription tier. There is no requirement to credit Seshat when publishing or distributing content created with it.
Seshat's intellectual property
Seshat's software, word-generation engine, data models, phonological presets, user interface, and all associated systems are the intellectual property of Seshat. You may not copy, reproduce, reverse-engineer, or distribute any part of the platform itself.
Content you bring in
You are responsible for ensuring that any content you upload or incorporate into Seshat (such as reference material, imported data, or custom scripts) does not infringe the intellectual property rights of others. Seshat does not monitor user-uploaded content but will act on valid infringement notices.
Copyright infringement claims (DMCA)
Seshat respects the intellectual property rights of others and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and equivalent international provisions. If you believe that content on the Seshat platform infringes your copyright, send a written notice to hello@conlangcreator.com with the subject line "Copyright claim" that includes:
Your name and contact information (address, phone number, or email).
A description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.
A description of where the infringing material appears on the platform, with enough detail for us to locate it.
A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.
Your physical or electronic signature.
We will review valid notices and take appropriate action, which may include removing the content and notifying the user who posted it.
Counter-notices
If you believe your content was removed in error, you may send a counter-notice to hello@conlangcreator.com with the subject line "DMCA counter-notice" that includes:
Your name and contact information.
Identification of the content that was removed and where it appeared.
A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the content was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
Your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal courts in your district, or if outside the United States, to any judicial district in which Seshat may be found.
Your physical or electronic signature.
Upon receipt of a valid counter-notice, we may restore the content after the required waiting period under the DMCA unless the original claimant files a court action.
Repeat infringers
Seshat will terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers of intellectual property rights.
